The Value of Autonomy

The new MuSAM aims to provide all visitors with the tools they need to support their experience. A constantly evolving journey — starting here, today!

Accessibility in the cultural sphere is the essential foundation for an inclusive museum experience — one capable of overcoming all barriers, both physical and cognitive. This goal can be achieved through technological and design innovation, by ensuring that each visitor can fully enjoy and engage with the cultural heritage on offer.

Not only has the content been carefully designed — structural aspects have also been thoughtfully addressed. Thanks to the renovations carried out in 2025, MuSAM is committed to reducing those architectural barriers that too often, especially in historic buildings, stand in the way of access to culture. Today, new dedicated entrances and an elevator ensure an easy and welcoming experience for all!

Making a place like MuSAM accessible means promoting social inclusion and strengthening the connection between people and their territory. It is a commitment that reflects our vision of a museum that is open, dynamic, and future-oriented — a place where knowledge and beauty are shared. Limitless.

Tactile Map and Braille Information Panels

At the start of the museum itinerary, a tactile map offers visitors an overview of the layout. As they enter each room, Braille panels and embossed QR codes provide accessible tools supporting autonomous exploration throughout the museum. These aids guide visitors from one stage to the next, presenting the content of that room and offering detailed information.
